Enhancing your travel experience in Calgary’s International Airport.
October 31, 2016, is a milestone for Calgary as it unveils the newest addition to its vibrant tourism scene: the international terminal at YYC Calgary International Airport.
A masterpiece through and through, the terminal is adorned with eye-catching and authentic local artwork. From sculptures to paintings to installations, these curated pieces are the essence of Calgary. Staying true to its roots and original art direction, the airport guides tourists through an unforgettable airport experience while boasting about Calgary and Alberta history. There are 17 iconic art pieces featured that were carefully selected to tell our story and leave visitors with an urge to explore the city at its fullest.
The YYC airport now offers over two-million square feet of new airport delight to create an experience for travelers that is efficient, relaxing and engaging with an enriched story component about the city. Creating a sense of place has been the goal with design and is evident from the Douglas Fir vaulted ceilings to the ‘Glacial Wall’ by Michel Mailholt.
As an international hub, travelers are treated to a number of shops and restaurants that are a blend of local and international. As proud Calgarians, the terminal features some of the city’s favorites, including Hana Sushi, Green Chili, and Spolumbo’s.
